About

Hi, I'm Corey.

I run Corvian Labs, a one-person web design and development studio in Cambridge, Ontario. I build websites, booking systems and custom web apps for small businesses, clinics, non-profits and startups.

From shipping my own products to shipping yours

Corvian Labs started as a product studio. I designed, built and launched my own software, including an AI email-outreach platform and a journaling app that is live on the App Store today. Doing that solo taught me every layer of the job: design, front end, back end, databases, email, payments, hosting, SEO, and the unglamorous work of keeping it all running.

Along the way, local businesses started asking for help with their own sites. A swim school needed to replace a WordPress site and a spreadsheet with real online booking. A new coalition of humane societies needed a fast, accessible home on the web. Those projects were the most satisfying work I had done, so I made them the focus.

The name comes from the crow, an animal known for intelligence, adaptability and problem-solving. That is the approach I bring to client work: understand the real problem first, pick the simplest tool that solves it well, and build it so it lasts.

I'm based in Cambridge and work with clients across Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and the rest of Ontario, plus remote clients elsewhere in Canada and the US.

What I bring to a project

The skills that show up in every case study on this site.

Full-stack, front to back

Design, the pages people see, the database, accounts, email and hosting. I build the whole thing, in my go-to stack or the framework your team prefers.

Accessibility as a default

Semantic markup, keyboard support, contrast, focus states and screen-reader labels on every project, tested with axe and real assistive tech.

Search-engine ready

Unique metadata, structured data, sitemaps, canonical URLs and Core Web Vitals budgets so the site can actually be found.

Performance that holds up on a phone

Responsive images, code splitting, caching and lazy loading. Fast on a rural LTE connection, not just on a dev laptop.

Security and privacy by design

Rate limiting, input validation, security headers, consent-gated analytics and data-deletion flows that respect Canadian privacy expectations.

Booking and scheduling systems

Capacity logic, expiring holds, overrides and admin calendars. I have built the hard parts of a real booking platform end to end.

Transactional email automation

Confirmations, reminders, broadcasts and password resets that are logged, templated and sent by a proper provider.

Admin tooling people actually use

Dashboards, tables with filters, bulk edits and broadcast tools designed around the person who has to run the business every day.

How I work

1

Direct communication

You email or call me, and I answer. Weekly progress updates and a staging link you can check any time.

2

Fixed quotes, no scope creep

A written scope before we start. If something grows mid-project, you see the cost before I do the work.

3

You own everything

Source code, domain, hosting accounts. On final payment it is all yours, with documentation to prove it.

4

Built to be maintained

Typed code, clear structure and no exotic dependencies, so the next developer (or future me) can pick it up without a rewrite.
